[AMA] Jobless despite promoted 3 times in 3 years in banking!

Curious to find out if anyone else happen to be like me, can't find ANYTHING at all.

Very sad. I actually joined only in 2011 but have been in contract jobs ever since.. The 'highest' bank I worked with starts with a 'J'.

Still jobless! Thinking of what I should do next before I become bankrupt.

Did they axe the whole department? How come high performer got retrenched.

KYC Operations..

For 2 banks I been to, job function shifted to India.

For 1 bank I been to, restructured and shoved to retail sales which I did not want to do for long-term.

why everyone thinks banking is a glam job?

Not a glam job, infact I been to a few tier 1 banks. On the outside ppl think "wow" but on the inside, its BS.. Just a means to survive.. In this 70.1 country.

No I work in an unglamorous sme. Only have one week of unemployment one week in between my two jobs

hard truths.. i heard the shift since 2012, seeing it materialize now. i guess some functions will still remain local like cash operations..

Still taking degree.worked very hard for my promotions. previously avp in jay pee. currently finding jobs . been a really slowww year end

actually alot of times.. in CBP actually.. i felt that whats so amazing about the indians that sinkies cannot do??? they are there literally by the truck loads what the hell is singapore doing??

actually on the contrary.. since at least 2 places i been to the job is shifted to India to ... cut cost? and the irony is that we still have to create procedures to the point of elementary school style and even step by step videos on how to do a review or anything. somehow i feel those days of my parents where everyone work towards contributing to the country is gone.

kyc shld be easy to find jod.

yar lots of lots of them. thing is they dun do much. got hired simply coz the booss from same village. talk and talk.

LOL. not easy man. just this morning receive calls for yet more contract jobs. like 6 mths for maternity cover for team manager but aft that no continuation. go and die srsly
