Some or most people are not IT savvy. They are only trained to use the applications/programs in the computer. So naturally they have no idea on how to troubleshoot the problems

They are not stupid. They only want to use technology that is easy and beneficial for them. When they find it inconvenient , they will call the IT support guys for assistance.
